SIMFEROPOL, April 22 (RAPSI) - The Crimean Prosecutor’s Office has filed a lawsuit to seize the physical assets of the Crimean branch of Privatbank, First Deputy Chairman of the Crimean Ministers Council Rustam Temirgaliyev announced at a government meeting Tuesday.

“The Crimean Prosecutor’s Office has initiated legal proceedings to seize the property of Privatbank in order for the Deposit Insurance Agency to sell the property and then reimburse, at least partially, the deposits of Crimean residents and legal entities,” Temirgaliyev said.

Acting Head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, said that similar measures will be taken against the Crimean branches of other Ukrainian banks that have frozen the accounts of companies and individuals.

“We’ve developed a registry of corporate and individual clients who have deposits of over 700,000 rubles. For every customer, the frozen amount will be evaluated and taken into account during an assessment of the bank property, including Privatbank,” Aksyonov said. He assured those at the meeting that all the affected depositors will eventually get their money back.
