MOSCOW, October 17 (RAPSI) – The Moscow Commercial Court on December 11 will hear the lawsuit filed by ANO “Sports Broadcasting” in which it demands 512 million rubles ($15,8 mln) from Sony Electronics for breaching contract on supply of mobile TV stations, RAPSI reports from the courtroom.

Sony was obligated to supply the plaintiff with mobile TV stations, which were to be used during the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. “Sports Broadcasting” claims that the delivery was made 80 days later than the date agreed, and that the equipment was flawed. The plaintiff now demand 11% from the payment agreed upon – 512 million rubles ($15,8 mln).

Sony representatives said that the equipment was unique and developed to meet the plaintiff’s needs, which delayed negotiations on delivery date. Sony also filed a motion to hold the next court’s session behind closed doors, as the hearings might reveal trade secrets.

Sports Broadcasting is a joint venture by major Russian TV networks, created in 2009 to conduct broadcasting and telecommunications support during the upcoming Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.
