MOSCOW, July 12 (RAPSI) - A man who attempted to organize extremist activities in Murmansk while pretending to be a Femen activist has been charged, the Prosecutor General's Office reported on Friday.

According to the prosecutor's office, Gennady Pushkaryov opened an account on the VKontakte social network in the name of Karina Pankova after talking with a Femen representative in Russia, Anna Gutsol. He used the account to announce the opening of a Femen branch in the Polar region and to publish a price list for carrying out actions against Orthodox churches.

"He charged 6,000 rubles ($184) for sawing down a memorial cross and 2,000 rubles (over $60) for writing an inscription, including words that can cause religious offense, on a cross. When he talked with journalists by telephone, Pushkaryov imitated a woman's voice to create the impression that he is a girl," the Prosecutor General's Office said in a statement.

Pushkaryov has been charged with inciting extremism and has admitted his guilt. His case has been referred for trial to the Kandalaksha District Court of the Murmansk Region.

The Femen group, which originated in Ukraine, has expanded its activities to other countries as well. Their stunts always feature the same signature piece - they show up topless in any circumstances and in any weather.
