MOSCOW, June 13 (RAPSI). Once again, the Russian Supreme Court has ruled against cancelling daylight saving time during winter months in Russia, a RAPSI correspondent reports from the court.

The court dismissed an appeal filed by Alexander Saversky, President of the League for the Defense of Patients, who argued that the year round summer time violates citizens' rights.

At the hearing, Saversky claimed that the change has influenced people's mental and physical wellbeing.

"Im not concerned with my own health because I exercise regularly and practice yoga. However, I worry about my children and about others," he stressed.  Conversely, the prosecutor said that statutory time scales affect neither the environment, nor human health.

Summer time is now observed in Russia all year round, since the winter transition was abolished in 2011. The current time scale is two hours ahead of astronomical hours. The switch became controversial in Russia, with many people complaining about chronic lack of sleep and fatigue.
