MOSCOW, May 29 (RAPSI) – Oleg Deripaska, CEO of Russian aluminum giant Rusal, has filed a lawsuit with the Krasnoyarsk Territory Commercial Court, demanding that the Nezavisimoye Informatsionnoye Agentstvo (Independent News Agency) redact information that was published on its website regarding the company’s alleged tax evasion both in Russia and abroad, the court spokesperson told RAPSI Wednesday.

In October 2011, the defendant’s website posted an article headlined, “Oleg Deripaska refuses to pay taxes both in Russia and Guinea.” The plaintiff claims that the article contained false information, discrediting his company.

Deripaska has asked the court to force the defendant to remove the article from the website and to publish retractions. He was also angered by a statement saying that Rusal “is not accustomed to paying taxes.”
