ST.-PETERSBURG, October 4 - RAPSI. United Russia's request for a legal assessment of the A Just Russia party's transfer of Gennady Gudkov's seat in the State Duma has been filed with the Constitutional Court, a court representative told RIA Novosti.

"The request has arrived and it has been registered," the source said.

A Just Russia has decided to transfer Gudkov's seat to former Moscow City Duma Deputy Alexander Tarnavsky instead of economist Nikita Krichevsky, who followed Gudkov on the regional electoral list.

United Russia General Council Secretary Sergei Neverov said on Monday that his party will take the matter to the Constitutional Court to find out whether voters' rights have been violated.

The Central Election Committee gave Gudkov's mandate to Tarnavsky on Wednesday. The State Duma stripped Gudkov of his seat after the investigative authorities accused him of engaging in business activities in contravention of the law on parliamentarians.
