MOSCOW/ROSTOV-ON-DON, October 3 - RAPSI. A former federal judge has been found shot dead on a street in Rostov-on-Don, the local Investigative Committee branch reports.

The woman, born in 1955, was found with a gunshot wound to her head on Telman Street at 9pm on Tuesday, October 2. The report states that she was formally a federal judge in Rostov-on-Don.

A criminal case has been initiated for murder, punishable by up to 15 years in prison, and for illegal weapons acquisition and possession.

Investigators told RIA Novosti that the crime scene has been examined and forensic experts have been appointed.

On July 20, another Rostov Region judge was murdered. Four masked individuals shot District Court Chairman Samvel Manukyan in his home.
