MOSCOW, October 1 - RAPSI. The Moscow Commercial Court has registered RusMoloko's application to declare the bankruptcy of the Karat Moscow Processed Cheese Producing Factory, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) Monday.

The bankruptcy hearing date has yet to be scheduled. On three occasions, the court has returned lawsuits filed by various applicants to declare Karat bankrupt. The Morgaushky Dairy Plant opted against pursuing its application further, and the Federal Tax Service and the Moscow-Medyn Agro-Industrial Enterprise failed to submit the required documents to court.

In May 2011, Svyazbank granted Karat a credit line worth 1.5 billion rubles ($48.01 million). The credit line was opened for five years. The funds were allocated to finance its primary business activities - to realize innovation projects and to implement new products on the Russian market.

Karat is Russia's largest company producing processed, hard, and fresh cheeses, and other dairy products. Karat comprises the Karat Moscow Processed Cheese Producing Factory, Syzranmoloko in the Samara Region, and Syrkombinat Kalininsky in the Krasnodar Territory.
