MOSCOW, October 1 - RAPSI. The Moscow City Court has held against the appeal filed by Leonid Kovyazin, who was arrested earlier for taking part in the Bolotnaya Square riots in Moscow on May 6, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) on Monday.

On September 7, the Basmanny District Court issued an arrest warrant for Kovyazin until November 6. According to the investigators, Kovyazin and other individuals overturned portable toilets to build barricades against the police.

Clashes with the police flared up during the officially sanctioned opposition march across Moscow. Dozens of protesters and police officers were injured.

The police detained over 400 rally participants.

After May 6, the opposition continued its protests in the form of "people's promenades," in which crowds of opposition activists strolled peacefully through the city in a show of opposition.

In June, investigators searched the homes of the rally organizers and participants.
