MOSCOW, September 26 - RAPSI. The Basmanny District Court will consider on October 2 Left Front movement coordinator Sergei Udaltsov's appeal of a magistrate's ruling to fine him for holding an unauthorized rally, Yekaterina Korotova, the court's press secretary told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) on Wednesday.

Udaltsov held the unauthorized rally in August in front of the headquarters of the Investigative Committee, which houses Russia's federal investigators.

According to Udaltsov, the rally was held as a sign of solidarity with the individuals who have so far been arrested in the Moscow May riots case.

Udaltsov was charged with violating the established order to organize and hold the rally, which is punishable by a fine ranging from 20,000 ($641.2) to 30,000 rubles ($961.7), or compulsory community service for up to 50 hours. The magistrate ordered a maximum fine for the violation.
