MOSCOW, September 24 - RAPSI. The Mozhaisk City Court in Moscow Region has sentenced Maya Sklyuyeva, Borodinskoye Settlement Deputy Head, to five years in prison for fraudulent transactions in connection with museum land, the court spokesperson told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com).

According to investigators, between 2009 and 2010 Sklyuyeva doctored several papers, which then allowed dachas to be built on ten land plots within the territory of the State Borodino War and History Museum and Reserve.

Investigators established that over 100 houses and different household outbuildings were built in the reserve.

Investigators maintain that Sklyuyeva, together with her relatives Sergei Sklyuyev, Raisa Gavva and Alexander Gritskevitch, appropriated four land plots, worth $75,000 each.

Sklyuyevа pleaded not guilty at the first hearing. The other suspects have pleaded the same.

The State Borodino War and History Museum and Reserve is considered a cultural and heritage site of federal importance. According to legislation, only maintenance work can be carried out on the grounds.
