MOSCOW, September 19 - RAPSI. The Moscow Region's Khimkinsky District Court fined US stewardess Susanna Dikker 220,000 rubles ($7,139) for large-scale customs duty evasion, the Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office reported Wednesday.

According to investigators, Dikker, 50, a stewardess on a well-known airline, arrived at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport from New York. She crossed the border through the "nothing to declare" green corridor, but was then stopped for customs control.

"A personal customs inspection revealed that the woman had jewelry on her person and an expensive watch worth over 8 million rubles ($259,630). Dikker thus attempted to evade 3.5 million rubles ($113,000) in customs duty payments," Department of Investigation representative Tatyana Morozova said earlier.

The court found Dikker guilty. The sentence has yet to come into effect.
