MOSCOW, September 17 - RAPSI. Lawyers for Britain’s Prince William and his wife Catherine Middleton are seeking an injunction Monday afternoon against Closer, the French tabloid that published photographs last week of Middleton sunbathing topless in the South of France, according to The Guardian.

According to Guardian’s sources, the injunction sought would require Closer to recall all print copies of the publication at issue, and to remove all of the photographs from its website. In case of a failure to comply with the terms of the injunction, the legal team is seeking the imposition of a fine of 100,000 Euros for failure to remove print editions from newsstands, and the same amount for Closer’s failure to remove photos from its website. Finally, to ensure removal is swift, lawyers for the couple are seeking a punitive fine of 10,000 Euros for each passing day the tabloid fails to comply.

A royal source first confirmed with AFP last Friday that, “legal proceedings for breach of privacy have been commenced today in France by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge against the publishers of Closer Magazine France."

The photos have been published by two other international tabloids: Ireland’s The Daily Star, and Italy’s Chi. The latter is owned by Mondadori Media Group, which owns Closer as well.
