SAMARA, September 11 - RAPSI. The Samara Region Federal Security Service is looking into a Togliatti resident's possible involvement in the hacking of the Khamovnichesky District Court's website in August, a law enforcement source told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.

Earlier, the Supreme Court said it would pursue criminal charges against the individuals who hacked the website of the court that sentenced the Pussy Riot punk rock collective to two years in prison.

The hackers posted anti-government slogans and an obscene video clip of a flamboyant Bulgarian singer, Azis, on the website. The website resumed normal operation several hours later.

"Law enforcement officers were sanctioned by the court to inspect the apartment of a Togliatti resident, who may have been involved in the website's hacking," the source said. "He was familiar with the court decision. Electronic equipment such as his computer, cell phone, and USB portable devices were taken from his apartment for examination."

He added that information may have been preliminarily removed from the electronic media. The resident has been interrogated and released. Experts have yet to provide their conclusion, he said.

Five masked members of the Pussy Riot female punk rock band performed a "punk prayer" in Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Savior in late February. A video was later posted online and caused a public outcry. The court sentenced Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Maria Alyokhina, and Yekaterina Samutsevich to two years in prison for disorderly conduct on August 17.
