MOSCOW, August 28 - RAPSI. A member of international terrorist group the Islamic Movement of Turkestan has been detained in Moscow, the Interior Ministry's Department for the Central Federal District reported on Tuesday.

The Tajik citizen was earlier placed on the international wanted list for murder.

The police uncovered his identity and revealed that he was a member of the terrorist organization.

"The police also received information that the criminal has been on the wanted list since 2004 for committing murder in his homeland and that he was hiding from the law," the department said.

The Interior Ministry reported that the individual was earlier detained in Russia and extradited to his homeland, but he then returned to Moscow using fake documents. He was arrested and an investigation is presently underway into the forgery of official documents.

The police are also investigating his possible participation in terrorist acts in Russia and Tajikistan.
