ST. PETERSBURG, August 24 - RAPSI. The founder of an organization supporting the rights of sexual and gender minorities has filed his fourth defamation lawsuit against a local lawmaker Vitaly Milonov in St. Petersburg, the organization reported on its website on Friday.

Deputy Vitaly Milonov is the author of a law prohibiting the promotion of homosexuality and pedophilia among underaged individuals.

Earlier, the Oktyabrsky District Court dismissed three similar lawsuits filed by the activist and organization head Nikolai Alexeyev against Milonov.

"This time, Vitaly Milonov's interview was the reason why Alexeyev referred to the court, as the deputy called him an 'flamboyant' activist," according to the website.

In April, the court rejected his first lawsuit against the lawmaker, which centered on Milonov's allegations that the activist is financed from abroad. Milonov also called Alexeyev a "girl."

Later, Alexeyev sued Milonov for calling him a "woman" on TV. The lawsuit was dismissed.

In late June, Alexeyev reported that he had filed a third lawsuit against the deputy because he found Milonov's description of him as "flamboyant" to be insulting. He sought 1 million rubles ($31.430) from Milonov as compensation for moral harm. The court dismissed the lawsuit.

Alexeyev's most recent lawsuit against the lawmaker stems from similar accusations.

The bill setting fines for "gay propaganda" came into force in St. Petersburg on March 30. It faced criticism from the LGBT community and rights activists in Russia and abroad, but was also proposed to be made into a federal law. The law sets fines for violators.
