MOSCOW, August 21 - RAPSI. The Moscow Commercial Court has upheld the antitrust watchdog's decision that the bidders in an e-auction violated competition law, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) on Tuesday.

The watchdog uncovered that eight bidders gave up on a lot to repair asphalt pavement, but continued to bid for the remaining lots. The auction was only declared over after the RSU STORY-Kon company made a bid that was slightly lower than the starting price, the watchdog said.

The bidders were declared in breach of competition law, which was the watchdog's first such decision in an e-auction case.

The bidders disagreed and took the watchdog to court.

The watchdog said the case was referred to law enforcement authorities and a case has been opened on charges of preventing competition.
