Earlier, the service Deputy Director Sergei Arakelov said the tax authorities won 64.5 percent of their judicial cases in 2011. Commercial courts and general jurisdiction courts considered 710,600 cases in January-June 2012, in which the tax authorities participated. The total amount of the considered claims was 128.2 billion rubles ($3.92 billion). In the first half of 2011, 1.779 million cases were considered. The amount of the considered claims was 151.9 billion rubles ($4.65 billion).

“The drop in the number of cases considered in disputes with taxpayers in the first half of 2012 is attributed to the improvement of administration, the improvement of out-of-court dispute regulation and the development of information online services,” the watchdog reported.
