MOSCOW, July 20 - RAPSI. On Friday the Moscow Commercial Court partially upheld Sredniye Torgovye Ryady's lawsuit claiming $46.7 million in damages from the Finance Ministry with regard to a project on Moscow's Red Square, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency.

Initially the developer sought 3.6 billion rubles ($112 million).

Sredniye Torgovye Ryady (The Middle Shopping Mall) company was seeking to recover all expenses incurred in its renovation project in central Moscow. The court also involved the Agency for the Management and Use of Historical and Cultural Monuments as a third party in the case.

Plans for the project were drawn up in 2000. However, the building to be renovated was granted to a federal agency in 2010. The development company considered the contract to be terminated as it was no longer able to implement it.
