MOSCOW, July 18 - RAPSI. The Federation Council adopted on Wednesday a law whereby a single blacklist of websites with unlawful content will be established as of November.

The State Duma approved the draft law in the second and third readings. The draft law envisaging the blacklist was submitted to the legislature in early June and adopted in the first reading on July 6. The list will include websites with information harmful for children, such as child pornography, or promoting suicide or drugs.

The Internet community has reacted negatively to the bill, fearing government censorship. Wikipedia staged a protest as a result, temporarily shutting down its Russian segment.

The draft law has been submitted to the president for signing.
