MOSCOW, July 16 - RAPSI. The Moscow City Court has failed to select a board of jurors to consider the case against former Investigative Committee employee Andrei Grivtsov, who has been accused of extorting a $15 million bribe, his attorney Vladimir Zherebenkov told the Russia Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) on Monday.

The court failed to select the board due to the small number of candidates, he said.

"Only 23 candidates came to court on Monday, some of whom gave up," he said. "Eventually, only 15 candidates were left, and the judge wants 19 people to be selected - 12 primary jurors and seven extra jurors." Zherebenkov said the selection process will continue up to August 8.

According to the prosecutor's office, Grivtosov was handling a raid case involving Rosenergomash president.

The committee believes that Grivtsov entered into a collision with defense attorney Ruslan Parkin to receive a $15 million bribe through the latter's mediation.

The bribe was extorted from the company's president. The criminals threatened the latter by telling him that he would be prosecuted as part of the criminal investigation.
