Rusal vs Norilsk Nickel
Krasnoyarsk Territorial Commercial Court
Rusal Investment Management is seeking to cancel decisions made by the MMC Norilsk Nickel board of directors at a September 2011 meeting when the buyback deal was approved. As part of the buyback, MMC purchased 14.7 million ordinary shares or 7.7 percent of its charter capital. The stake was worth $4.5 billion.

Tyumen Territorial Commercial Court
TNK-BP Holding minority shareholder Andrei Prokhorov has filed a lawsuit seeking to recover $13.56 billion in losses from BP Russian Investment Limited and BP p.l.c. The plaintiffs claim was dismissed in 2011 but the court of cassation sent the case back for reconsideration.

Nemiroff vs Nemiroff Trade House
Ninth Commercial Court of Appeals
Nemiroff, Ukraine's largest producer of alcoholic drinks, seeks to invalidate the resolution of Nemiroff Trade House's meeting on replacing its general director. The claim was rejected, Nemiroff filed an appeal against the judgment. The conflict began after the parties failed to agree on the price and terms of the company's purchase by the Russian Standard holding company.
DEBT RECOVERY
Sberbank vs Pin Telecom, Leasing Group Industry
Sberbank seeks to recover 1.27 billion rubles ($43.6 million) in debt under loans from the St. Petersburg-based PiN Telecom and Leasing Group Industry. The bank has filed four lawsuits. PiN Telecom is now under bankruptcy procedure.

MiG-Finance vs Tupolev aircraft manufacturer
The Moscow District Federal Commercial Court
MiG-Finance, subsidiary of MiG Aircraft Corporation, seeks debt recovery under the loan agreement. The plaintiff claims 272.2 million rubles ($8.7 million) from Tupolev aircraft manufacturer. The defendant in its turn demands the agreement to be annulled. MiG-Finance was earlier awarded 192.9 million rubles ($6.5 million), but the court of appeals overturned the judgment.

Neft-Activ vs Yukos Capital S.a.r.l., Samaraneftegaz
Eleventh Commercial Court of Appeals
The Samara Regional Commercial Court in February invalidated loan contracts worth over $101.4 million signed between Luxemburg-based Yukos Capital S.a.r.l. and Samaraneftegaz, structure of Rosneft oil company. The claim filed by Neft-Activ, Rosneft subsidiary, was thus satisfied. Yukos Capital appeal against the judgment.

Auchan Retail Group vs News Media
The lawsuit centers upon the article about the tragedy in a Moscow family where two girls - four and seven years old - reportedly died after the entire family got poisoned with food bought at the Auchan store. The lawsuit was filed against News Media, the founder of the popular website which published the article.
