SKYY SPIRITS, LLC vs Patent Service
The US-based SKYY SPIRITS, LLC alcohol producer has filed a lawsuit against the patent service over the early termination of the SKYY trademark's protection in Russia.
The patent agency terminated the SKYY trademark's legal protection in October 2011 upon the Seychelles-based Esmington Corporation's request. The corporation said the owner does not use the trademark in Russia.
DEFAMATION
Aeroflot vs Izvestia Newspaper
Aeroflot, Russia's largest airline, demands that the defendant refute false information and pay five million rubles ($171k) in compensation. The newspaper in its February 29 article alleged that due to excessive workload Aeroflot pilots sometimes fall asleep right during the flight.

Terra Publishing House vs Astrel
Terra Publishing House filed a lawsuit against Astrel, AST publishing company structure, for allegedly illegal use of works by Russian sci-fi writer Alexander Belyayev. The plaintiff demands unprecedented $229.5 million in compensation.
Terra claims to own the rights for the popular works by the writer. Meanwhile Astrel insists the term of copyright protection expired and it legally published the novels.

Tekhnoservice vs Playboy Enterprises
Russian company Tekhnoservice seeks premature termination of the Playboy trademark's legal protection in Russia. Plaintiff claims that Playboy Enterprises does not use its trademark for the production of a number of goods while other entities could use it instead. The patent agency was attracted as a third party in the case.

Nordea vs SU-155
Ninth Commercial Court of Appeals
Russian developer SU-155 is seeking to reverse a $31,36 million judgment against it over loan agreement with Nordea Bank. The loan issued to SU-155 was set to mature in 2012. The bank requested its early repayment because the developer ceased to pay interest.

Ametech vs Rosoboronexport
Ninth Commercial Court of Appeals
Ametech artillery weapons systems manufacturer seeks to recover $89.5 million (2.58 billion rubles) from Russian Defense Export (Rosoboronexport) over the contract with the Egypt's Defense Ministry. Ametech claims 1.63 billion rubles in lost profit. It also seeks to fine Rosoboronexport for "counterproductive financing". The lawsuit was dismissed and the plaintiff filed an appeal against the judgment.

DataCenter vs Watchdog
The plaintiff demands $124,000 from watchdog (Roskomnadzor) for mass media monitoring system development. DataCenter won the public tender, however Roskomnadzor told later that the proposed system was rejected and filed a counterclaim.
