MOSCOW, June 6 - RAPSI. Six individuals charged with the murder of several people, including two police officers, as well as theft and other serious crimes, have filed a motion at their first hearing for the case to be tried by jury.

The six individuals have been accused of over 30 crimes, including killing four local Maritime Territory residents and two police officers, armed attacks against police stations, burglary and car theft.

Investigators say that the gang, dubbed "the Far Eastern guerillas" by local media, formed in 2009 and was neutralized on June 11, 2010. Agents closed in on the gang in an apartment building. Two police officers were wounded during the action. According to forensic reports, two of the gangsters shot themselves. Those arrested and taken prisoner have been kept in custody.

At the first preliminary hearing, the defendants asked for a jury trial and extra time to review the case materials. The next court session will be held on Thursday.
