MOSCOW, May 11 - RAPSI. Gross violations committed by the police while surveying crime scenes prevent them from quickly investigating crimes, the Moscow Prosecutor General's Office reports on Friday.

The prosecutor's office held conferences this week on the efforts of law enforcement agencies to prevent thefts and crimes committed by convicts in 2011 and the first quarter of this year.

"The conference participants noted that police teams surveying crime scenes work poorly," the prosecutor's office reported on its website. "They commit gross violations resulting in the loss of evidence and the obstruction of quick investigations."

It also emphasized that the police face numerous setbacks while arranging administrative supervision over individuals who were recently released from custody.
