In the matter of Avianova airline

Averon filed bankruptcy petition against Avianova, low cost airline, seeking to recover 2.3 million rubles ($79,400) in debt. The airline's total debt exceeds 586 million rubles ($20.2 million), while its assets and equipment are worth slightly more than 4 million rubles ($138k).

The Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) revoked Avianova's operations license in January 2011.

DEFAMATION

Aeroflot vs Izvestia newspaper

Aeroflot, Russia's largest airline, demands that the defendant refute false information and pay five million rubles ($171k) in compensation.

The newspaper in its February 29 article alleged that due to excessive workload Aeroflot pilots sometimes fall asleep right during the flight.

Gazpromneft Moscow Refinery vs Environmental Watchdog

Ninth Commercial Court of Appeals

Gazpromneft Moscow Refinery filed an appeal against upholding the environmental watchdogs refusal to grant permission to emit noxious pollutants.

The service refused to grant permission in September 2011, arguing that the refinery failed to execute its obligations to substantially reduce the pollutants in its discharges in 2010-2011. According to the service, the refinery failed to stop two sources of pollution near residential area.

Nemiroff vs Nemiroff Trade House

Nemiroff, Ukraine's largest alcohol producer, seeks to invalidate the resolution of Nemiroff Trade House shareholders' meeting on replacing its general director. Alexander Glus, who owns 25-percent interest plus two shares in Nemiroff Holding, is presently in conflict with the rest of the shareholders. The conflict broke out after the parties failed to agree on the price and terms of the company's acquisition by the Russian Standard holding company.

LAND LAW

Estate museum vs Defense ministry

The Arkhangelskoye Estate Museum seeks to annul the results of the land auction held by the Defense Ministry.

The plaintiff believes the ministry was not entitled to auction the land as most of the territory falls within the museum's preservation zone.

The estate is a historical palace and park established in the late 18th century near Moscow. Renowned art collector Prince Nikolay Yusupov bought Arkhangelskoye in 1810.

NLMK, one of the world's leading steel producers, seeks to cancel a shares-purchase contract, according to which it purchased a controlling stake in Maxi-Group. The plaintiff also claims back billions of rubles that it paid for a stake in Maxi-Group.

Russia's federal tax service filed an appeal against the court decision invalidating an additional charge of $682,700 in taxes on Christian Dior's Russian subsidiary.

Uniastrum Bank vs Antimopoly service

The plaintiff seeks to cancel the Federal Antimonopoly Service's ruling that it conducted unfair business practices with bank deposits.

The watchdog ruled in January that Uniastrum Bank along with two credit organizations attracted clients by promising them profitable deposit conditions during the financial crisis, but later failed to fully meet its obligations. The watchdog found that Uniastrum Bank established the rule allowing clients to credit their accounts for free, but then charged them a seven percent fee for money remittance and other transactions.

In the matter of Continent Airlines

Continent Airlines, established in 2007, ceased its flights in July 2011 due to debts to Russian airports worth $1.06 million. The Federal Agency for Air Transport nullified its operator's certificate as a result. According to Continent, its liabilities amounted to $7.87 million, while its receivables stood at $3.71 million.
