MOSCOW, April 16 - RAPSI. Over 1,000 people have registered so far to take part in the international legal forum in mid-May in St. Petersburg, Justice Minister Alexander Konovalov told journalists on Monday.

The Second St. Petersburg Legal Forum will take place on May 16-19. The event will focus on the role of the law in modern society, legal methods to improve global business development, and efforts to protect cultural values.

The forum is expected to host leading politicians, lawyers, economists and scientists.

"We hope the forum will host over 2,000 participants," Konovalov said.

He noted that President Dmitry Medvedev may also take part in the forum.

"Let's hope he will participate," the minister added.
