MOSCOW, April 11 - RAPSI. The Moscow District Federal Commercial Court will hear on May 2 an appeal filed by the Middle Shopping Mall development company against the court decision awarding Mezhprombank $4.4 million in its lawsuit against the company.

The Middle Shopping Mall is associated with the United Industrial Corporation owned by former Senator Sergei Pugachyov.

In November 2011, the Moscow Commercial Court held for the bank's claim in full and ordered the company to repay its 90.4 million ruble ($3 million) debt for a June 2009 loan contract. The court also charged the debtor interest and penalties. The court decision has come into force.

The bank told the court that the defendant had to repay the debt by June 30, 2011. However, it defaulted in its debt repayment. The bank filed a lawsuit after the debtor ignored its claim to pay back the loan.

The Moscow Commercial Court declared Mezhprombank bankrupt in November 2010.

The United Industrial Corporation was one of the largest companies in Russia until recently. It managed investments and assets worth over 300 billion rubles ($10 billion) in the financial, shipbuilding and aircraft building sectors, among others.
