ST.-PETERSBURG, April 9 - RAPSI. The commercial court in Saint Petersburg has upheld lower-court decisions to dismiss the Aurora research and production association’s $9.5 million lawsuit against the Baltiysky Zavod shipyard.

The courts refused to order the collection of advanced payments under a contract with Aurora on the development of control system components for a power unit ordered by Rosenergoatom for the world’s first floating nuclear power plant. The contract amount was equal to 10 billion rubles ($334 million).

Aurora went to court as the shipyard failed to provide advance financing by November 2010. The court dismissed the lawsuit as Aurora did not start the works prior to their advance payment.

Baltiysky Zavod manufactures icebreakers, military vessels, a range of engineering products and energy equipment and supplies nonferrous and core-mold castings.
