MOSCOW, March 21 - RAPSI. The Monolit Records recording company has submitted an appeal against the court's refusal to consider a lawsuit against the popular Russian social network VKontakte.

The plaintiff claims its copyrights were violated and seeks to recover 450,000 rubles ($15,400) from the network.

The St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region Commercial Court has refused to satisfy the lawsuit, as the company failed to provide evidence as to the alleged violations.

The court decision reads that the plaintiff provided only printouts of Internet pages, which were not certified by a notary.

The Thirteenth Commercial Court of Appeals has registered the recording company's appeal. The hearing has yet to be set.
