STAVROPOL, January 23 - RAPSI. The Stavropol Territory Prosecutor's Office received control of the investigation into the tax evasion charges against Vinzavod Stavropolsky (Stavropol Winery), the prosecutor's office told RIA Novosti.

The head of the winery allegedly reported false data in the company's tax declarations. A total of 2.848 billion rubles ($90.7 million) went unpaid to the state budget, the prosecutor's office said.

According to the agency, the director did not include data on alcohol products sold by the company in its tax declarations from July 2007 to December 2009.

A criminal case was initiated against the director. He may face up to six years in prison.
