MOSCOW, January 19 - RAPSI, Alyona Yegorova. A commercial court will hear on February 28 Russian Railways' lawsuit against the antimonopoly service's resolution accusing the company of violating competition law, the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) reports from the courtroom on Thursday.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service declared Russian Railways and its fully-owned subsidiary the First Nonmetallic Company (FNC) in breach of competition law in September by obstructing crushed stone producers' access to the market.

According to the watchdog, it opened a case against the subsidiary on February 17 in response to the requests of the Pavlovskgranit and Nedra companies.

The service has analyzed the crushed stone market and established that only a certain grade of crushed stone may be used in railways construction, while Russian Railways was its largest consumer in the Central and North-Western federal districts in 2009-2010, accounting for an over 50-percent market share.

The watchdog has also learned that Russian Railways and FNC restricted other companies' access to the market during bidding.

FNC comprises 18 crushed stone plants in Russia. Its core business is nonmetallics production and processing.
