Court to hear appeal in Krusovice trademark infringement case
MOSCOW, January 18 - RAPSI. A federal commercial court has registered an appeal of Elitvoda.ru against the court-ordered collection of $6,340 for Heineken Ceska republika, the exclusive title holder to Krusovice trademark, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com).
The hearing date has yet to be scheduled.
The trial court decided that the defendant imported "Krusovice Imperial," "Krusovice Musketur" and "Krusovice Сеrne" beer to Russia without Heineken's consent, thus infringing its trademark rights.
The Ninth Commercial Appellate Court held for Heineken Ceska republika in its lawsuit to claim 200,000 rubles ($6,340) in damages from Elitvoda.ru on December 12.
Heineken is a Dutch brewer founded in 1863. Its companies in Russia include Heineken Brewery, St. Petersburg's Stepan Razin Brewery and other companies.
