MOSCOW, January 12 - RAPSI. Renowned writer Eduard Limonov, the leader of The Other Russia unregistered party, has filed an appeal with the European Court of Human Rights against the refusal to register him as a candidate for the presidential election, Limonov's attorney told the Russian Legal Information Agency.

"Limonov has requested the court to consider his appeal on a priority basis, above all because the access denial to at least one of the candidates deprives both the elections and the president-elect of legitimacy," said the attorney.

The Supreme Court turned down Linonov's appeals against the Central Election Committee refusal on December 30 and declared it lawful and reasonable.
In addition, Limonov requested twice to reschedule the elections and create equal conditions for all candidates, but the Supreme Court dismissed the requests.
