MOSCOW, December 23 - RAPSI, Sergei Feklyunin. A court will hear on February 16 a $3,300 copyright lawsuit filed by Lavina Concert agency against MTV Russia Television Channel, the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) reported on Friday.

Lavina maintains that MTV infringed its exclusive rights when it used a song by a Soviet rock star Viktor Tsoi, who died back in 1990, in its program.

The defendant told the court that MTV never used the disputed Tsoi's song in its program.

The judge involved the MTV program's producer to act as the third party in the case and set February 16 as the date to hear the case on its merits.

MTV Russia is a part of Prof-Media Holding founded in 1997.
