MOSCOW, December 12 - RAPSI. The Moscow City Court postponed on Monday until December 22 its hearing of an appeal against a district court's decision not to recover $63,400 from the Kommersant publishing house for a charitable fund, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com).

The fund's lawsuits stemmed from the article titled, "Fund mars Putin's pleasure," which was published in the Kommersant newspaper in March. The fund sought 2 million plus one ruble from the paper, journalist Oleg Kashin and head of the Kommersant Relief Fund Lev Ambinder in moral damages, as well as a refutation of their statements that both the fund and its manager Vladimir Kiseles worked inefficiently.

Late last year, the fund organized a charity concert in St. Petersburg. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin not only attended, but also played the piano and sang a song during the event.

However, the mother of a girl suffering from cancer published an open letter in March asserting that she did not receive the money she was promised. It was also established that some hospitals failed to receive the promised funds. The fund alleged that the concert aimed not to raise funds, but rather to draw attention to sick children.

Nevertheless, the funds were provided after the scandal.
