ST. PETERSBURG, September 21 - RAPSI. An appeals court will hear on October 17 an appeal filed by Russia's largest bank against a trial court's decision not to cancel the results of a tender to finance the regional budget, the court records read.

Sberbank (Savings Bank) has appealed the Kaliningrad Regional Commercial Court's judgment, which dismissed in June the bank's lawsuit against the antimonopoly service's local branch and the regional tender authority.

The bank sought to invalidate the December tender results that deprived it of the right to finance the region. It also wanted an auction for two lots amounting to 850 million rubles ($30 million).

The tender challenged by the bank offered four lots -- 500 million, 550 million, 550 million and 300 million rubles. The third and fourth lots went to VTB Bank, not Sberbank, which planned to vie for them. VTB's northwestern subsidiary also participated in the tender.
