MOSCOW, September 21 - RAPSI, Alyona Yegorova. A commercial court will hold hearings into the defamation lawsuit filed by the National Reserve Bank controlled by businessman Alexander Lebedev against Kommersant Publishing House, the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI) reported on Wednesday.

The National Reserve Bank and Lebedev submitted four defamation lawsuits against the publishing house this summer.

The Kommersant newspaper published an article stating that a criminal case on embezzling state funds previously allocated to sanitize the Rossiysky Kapital bank had been initiated against the National Reserve Bank.

Lebedev and the bank are also seeking $319,330 in compensation.

The bank representative submitted to the court a number of documents on Wednesday.

He said Irina Kireyeva, the former chairman of Rossiysky Kapital, had already been incriminated in the embezzlement case.
