MOSCOW, September 20 - RAPSI. A commercial court submitted for reconsideration the lawsuit on partially depriving Spartak Moscow, one of Russia's leading football clubs, of its rights to the SPARTAK trademark, the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI) reported from the courtroom.

Earlier, Nikolai Starostin International Fitness and Sports Society Spartak filed a request with the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademarks, asking the service to deny the football club its rights to the SPARTAK trademark.

It argued that it had already secured the rights to use the trademark for its goods before the football club began using the trademark for similar goods.

The cassation court overruled the lower-courts' decisions on the invalidity of the watchdog's refusal to deprive the football club of the SPARTAK brand.

The case was submitted for reconsideration to the Moscow Commercial Court.

Therefore, both the service's and the club's claims were satisfied.
