Businessman prosecuted for ill-gotten 2.5 mln ruble gain

MOSCOW, August 29 - RAPSI. Investigators have opened a criminal case against a Saratov businessman for his illegal transport of oil products, a regional law enforcement source told RIA Novosti.

"It has been established that the general director of the Riko Research and Production Mining Office arranged the preparation of tank-cars for the transportation of oil products without a proper license. The work was performed at the Neftyannaya railroad station in Zavodskoy District between April and August 2010, and earned the general director more than 22.5 million rubles ($804,000)," said the source.

According to the source, the criminal case was launched last Saturday as a follow-up to an investigation conducted by the Interior Ministrys economic security and anti-corruption department for the Volga Federal District.

The source declined to specify if the businessmen was indicted or detained and what restriction measure would be imposed .
