MOSCOW, August 13 (RAPSI) - A Russian makeup artist, Angelina Purtova, who was arrested in Maldives on suspicion of being involved in drug trafficking, asked for an interpreter, Haveeru Online reported on Tuesday.

Charges were read Purtova asked for an interpreter because, by her own words, she knew English “only a little bit” as quoted by Haveeru Online.

Purtova, 25, was arrested in Maldives on February 27 after she arrived from Brazil. More than 2 kilograms of cocaine were found in her luggage, according to Haveeru Online.

She faces life sentence in prison and huge fine.
