MOSCOW, May 6 (RAPSI) - The Investigative Committee has resumed the probe into the case of an An-2 plane that went missing in the Urals almost a year ago with 13 people on board after airplane wreckage was finally discovered.

The plane disappeared off the radar last June and nothing further was known until this Sunday, when two local hunters found the crash site 8 kilometers from the airport. Investigators said the remains of 13 people were taken from the crash site for examination and identification.

Technical malfunction, pilot error and poor weather conditions are the three most likely reasons that could have caused the plane to crash, the Investigative Committee's Urals Transport Department said.

The plane took off from the Urals town of Serov on June 11 without the air dispatcher's approval or a flight plan, carrying 12 passengers, including two local traffic police heads. The wreckage was not found and the search was called off in November 2012 due to bad weather.

A criminal probe into the mysterious crash was re-opened after local hunters accidentally stumbled across the wreckage in hard-to-access terrain.
