MOSCOW, July 29 (RAPSI) - Over 100 officials in Uzbekistan have been charged with criminal or administrative offenses for unlawful activity involving public property. The news was announced in a presidential statement, RIA Novosti reports.

Over 100 public officials and asset holders incurred criminal or administrative liability for violation of the privatization and public property management law, the introduction says.

The president described the unacceptable work of various local executive officials and a number of related ministries, their irresponsible approach to ensuring safety, proper maintenance and the efficient use of the buildings and facilities on the public assets register as well as other public property.

Earlier, it was reported that in 2012-2013 the Uzbek government planned to sell the state assets of 497 enterprises in various industries, including oil and gas, energy, metals, agriculture, consumer products, and the electrical engineering and pharmaceutical industries.
