MOSCOW, August 6 - RAPSI. The court will soon hear the case against two high-ranking Rostov's Healthcare Ministry officials who have been accused of inflicting $3.5 million in losses to the government, Investigative Committee official representative Vladimir Markin said on Monday.

He added that the charges have been brought against the former deputy head and the former head of the Procurement Department.

The investigation believes that the defendants prepared documents to purchase three tomography machines at a substantially increased price out of their interests in 2009. When preparing the tender, they also created preferential terms for a tender participant, Markin said.

Eventually, the government sustained losses of 119.920 million rubles ($3.75 million), he said.

The suspects face up to 10 years in prison.
