UFA, April 14 - RAPSI. The Bashkirian Republic Supreme Court has ordered a regional consumer rights committee employee to pay a $950,000 fine for accepting $13,500 bribe from a business entity.

Investigators maintain that Dmitry Novikov, 35, received this amount in exchange for issuing a license for liqueurs trading in July. He partially admitted to the crime during the trial pointing out that the license issuance did not depend on him as the approval were to be given by the committee head. He was sure that the businessmen would receive the license all the same, but took advantage of his office to make money.

In addition to the fine Novikov was deprived of the right to hold office in an executive authority for two years.
