Ex-minister prosecuted for illegal limousines purchase
MOSCOW, January 10 - RAPSI. A court in North-Eastern Siberia will hear the criminal case of former Yakutian minister of housing and energy Alexander Antonenko charged with an unlawful purchase of three cars using public funds, the Investigative Committee reported on Tuesday.
Investigators hold that between 2007 and 2011 the minister ordered the head of a lower organization to purchase and maintain Toyota Land Cruiser-100, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado и Volkswagen Touareg for his personal and official purposes. Further, between January and April 2011 the minister instructed to pay for a car repair and another car delivery from Moscow.
The minister's illegal actions have inflicted an over 10 million rubles ($310,000) loss on lower organizations.
