MOSCOW, December 22 - RAPSI. A Moscow court ordered on Wednesday to arrest two Moscow Region tax inspectorate’s senior officials Rolan Batsuyev and Yelena Ovchinnikova until February 6 on charges of collusive misappropriation of over $630,000, the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) reported from the courtroom.

Investigators maintain that Batsuyev and Ovchinnikova were engaged in unlawful VAT refunding. A search produced documents revealing that several apartments in Moscow and some properties in Slovenia and Spain were registered as owned by Batsuyev’s relatives. Three million rubles ($94,400) were taken from Ovchinnikova.

The suspects’ attorneys have not commented to RAPSI on their next steps.
